I have been passionate about health and fitness since my early teen years when I began to excel in volleyball and track. My formal education began with a Bachelor's degree in biology. I worked as an apprentice to a master gardener at Seed Savers Exchange.
I spent over 5 years working closely with chiropractors as an assistant, medical report writer and educator, in Seattle, then Minnesota and Iowa. During this time I sampled and studied various healing modalities- searching for the right one for me.
Soon after becoming a mother of twins, I decided on becoming a Massage Therapist while attending workshops by Dr. Rosita Arvigo on Mayan Abdominal Massage and Maya Spiritual Healing at Frontier Natural Products. In 1999 I graduated from Eastwind School of Shiatsu and Holistic Healing. I became an apprentice to Dr. Arvigo the following year.
My love of ancient healing arts and native cultures, plants, and ecology, combines well with my scientific background. Naturally, I incorporate plant medicine, aromatherapy, sound healing, and much more into my already eclectic training from Eastwind school: Shiatsu, Reiki, Healing Touch, Cranio-Sacral Therapy, and Swedish Massage.
